Summer Camp
Summer Camp is starting on Monday June 22, 2009. If attending please download the camp information sheet and field trip permission form.

Music Kids at Camp and Next Year
We would like to introduce Music Kids, which
offers individual violin classes weekly and one group class monthly for children ages 3 and up.. Music Kids will be offering these lessons at Alef Bet during the summer and coming school year. This program is independent of Alef Bet's own music program. Parents, who are interested in signing up with Music Kids can do so through the Music Kids' website. Classes can be scheduled to be held at our school during the afternoon session or after school.  This is a unique opportunity for you and your children.  The cost is around $38 per class, and the Music Kids teacher will meet the children at the school (no need to drive anywhere). A flyer and more information will be given at the End of the Year Picnic.

Beethoven Found
I would like to take this opportunity to tell you about this wonderful Not-For-Profit organization that helps at-risk youth overcome poverty and crime through music. Studies demonstrate that a student who plays a musical instrument or takes part in a school band has an 80% better chance of succeeding both academically at school and in their chosen vocation. Beethoven Found was established to raise the awareness of the essential role of music by funding music programs for children across the country. Its mission includes providing free instruments, resources, mentoring and performance opportunities to students around the United States. For more information see their website: http://beethovenfound.com/

Have a wonderful summer,

Ayelet 'Ellie' Lichtash
