Dear parents,
School starts next week and we have updated our calendar with plenty of social activities. Our PTO would like to outline the activities and the dates. On Monday the school will distribute an updated Calendar including those activities. Please read the list below and let Janel know (janel@alefbetmontessori.org) which of the 2 activities you are willing to volunteer for. We cannot do them without your help (and we highly encourage all parents to volunteer). We are a very small school - everybody's participation counts. 1. _NA__ Meet n Greet/ Welcome BBQ (8/31/09) 2. ___ Apple Picking Field Trip (9/15/09) 3. ___ Friday Night Dinner/Shabbaton (TBA) 4. ___ Hanukah Party (12/13/09) 5. ___ Staff Gifts for Winter/End of year (December 2009/June 2010) 6. ___ Purim Party (February 26, 2010) 7. ___ Challa Fundraiser (All year) 8. ___ Mishloach Manot (Feb 2010) 9. ___ Fundraising Gala event (TBA) 10. ___ Annual Giving Fundraiser (starting October 2009) 11. ___ Lag B’Omer Bonfire/Ice Cream Social (Sunday May 2, 2010) 12. ___ Field Trip (During the month of May 2010) 13. ___ Extra Curricular Activities (Soccer, Basketball, Ballet, Etc. ) ( Sept./April) 14. ___End of Year Picnic (June 2010) 15. ___Returning parents - I want to serve on the PTO (Chair, VC, Treasurer, member ) 16. ___ I don’t know, but I want to be involved Short Reminders:
The first week of school is at the door. Please make sure to check
your calendar for the following items: Everyone is welcome to our 'Meet n Greet' on Monday 8/31 at 9 - 10 a.m. (Parents and children) Whole School - Back to School Night 8/31 at 8 p.m. (Parents Only) Sept 1. is first day of school for RETURNING students of the Primary Class (ages 3 - 6). Dismissal is at noon. (Rest of the week is a regular dismissal for returning students) Sept 1. is first day for Toddlers. NEW Toddlers are dismissed at 10 a.m. Returning Toddlers are welcome to stay until noon. Sept 2. is first day for NEW Students at the Primary Class. Noon dismissal for the first week of new students. Sept 2 - 4 - New Toddlers dismissal is 10 a.m. (Transition week) Sept 7 School Closed for Labor Day. Sept 8 - 11 Continue Transition week for Toddlers. Dismissal is 10:30 - 11 a.m. During Back to School Night we will give you an updated Calendar. The Calender includes the social events of the school and few more updates.
