Israeli Ambassador’s Wife Visits our School 2011

Sally Oren, wife of the Israeli Ambassador to the United States, visited our school in the fall of 2011.

The visit was part of an initiative to bring a Montessori Teacher Training program to Israel. Alef Bet Montessori is helping to establish a Teacher Training Program at Seminar Hakibbutizm College in Tel Aviv, one of the leading teachers’ training colleges in Israel.

The first training course will open in August of 2012. Our school will be leading the establishment of the program; sending professors; creating a network with well-known Montessori educators; and connecting to AMI . We are also working to be able to certify the program under AMI (International standards) and the Israel Dept of Education.
Teachers who are trained in Israel will be able to spend time in our classroom, teaching in Hebrew. We are looking to establish a Teachers’ Exchange program and a Student Exchange program with the schools in Israel.
Our board member, Claire Dwoskin and a School parent Renana Harel joined the visit as well as Linda Powers, Chair of the Board of Directors of Northwest Biotherapeutics.
