Alef Bet Montessori School

What Parents Say

Our parents are saying great things about Alef Bet. Here are some highlights:

Alef Bet is a school that prepares for life skills, resilience, and independence.

Alef Bet is not high-end babysitting; it's actual education.

For us it is a second of home for our kids, its a loving and caring place.

Morah Carmen! All the teachers are great but it is always Carmen whom Margaret talks about at home (whether it be helping her at naptime to soothing her if she gets hurt). Thank you for taking care of my sweet girl!

To the director of the school Ellie Lichtash  - for the incredible chance to be part of the miraculous of a family of Alef Bet Montessori School and for the opportunity for our son to have the opportunity to learn and socialise.   Nataliia (teacher at Toddler class) and to all teachers of Toddler class - for the good care of the children, your time, patience and understanding of the needs of children. You are doing an incredible job!!  Thank you!

Morah Jen she is always friendly and my kids love working with her. She is very friendly and Noah loves working with her. Thank you for being so patient and generous

Every staff member and teacher is amazing!

Thank you Ellie for always greeting us with individual attention, kindness, and directness. We have really appreciated your guidance when it comes to child sleep and focus and preparing the home environment to meet the needs of the child.

I would like to thank Ayelet, for her deep engagement, partnership and guidance.

The staff and PTO - they work so diligently.  The caregivers of my children, They are doing a wonderful job.

Morah Carlye and Morah Annette for doing an excellent care and support and guidance to our children (to our daughter Esther).

Honestly all 3 teachers in Dvash have been amazing. Special thank you for Jenn who has been so responsive, kind, and supportive to Harriet during the transition. Harriet has some quirks but I feel like Jenn really sees her which is so invaluable to me. I really look forward to continuing with Jenn as she takes the lead!

Morah Kimberly, the Elementary teacher, thank you for being a stable presence for the class. You are amazing.

Than you to Morah Racheli for promoting Hebrew learning in the school and making it fun for my children.

The staff and PTO - they work so diligently.  The caregivers of my children, They are doing a wonderful job.

Allow me to share with you my experience observing one of the “Alef Bet Montessori” school classrooms. The general feeling you get is calmness. The kids and teachers are happy and calm. I could hear the kids talking but no one raised his voice, it was quiet and peaceful.

Colors and materials:The classroom colors are light wood and light shade colors. Monochrome color palette that makes a beautiful and harmonious look. A variety of natural materials like wood and straw. The windows are big letting in the natural sunlight from outside.

Structure and organization:The toys are organized on low shelves where the kids can easily reach them and play. Some of the furniture is kid size too, The sink in the kitchen is one example.

There is a big variety of activities for the kids to choose from. The kids are playing in small groups, mostly by themself or with one more friend.

Independence:The kids look like they are at home and know very well what they are doing. They are moving independently between the “stations” and activities. No one is giving them specific directions about what to do or when they should do it. The teachers are always there to help if needed but you wouldn’t hear them rushing a kid who is engaged in play.

On a low kid's size, table food is served in bowls and some plates. The kids are independently serving themselves the food when they feel it is the right time for them to take a break and eat.

The overall feeling is peaceful and harmonious. The classroom is beautiful and bright and the kids are happy and calm, engaged in play, and focused on what they independently choose to explore.

“Hi Ellie, I wanted to take a moment to thank you for meeting with us. Lev had such a wonderful time visiting yesterday and I just had to share a few photos. This is a toddler who I was starting to become concerned about socially because of how shy and attached he is. We toured another school a couple of weeks ago and he did not get comfortable until the very end, but had no engagement with children. I couldn’t believe how he felt right at home yesterday! It was the most beautiful thing to witness! You’ve really created such a lovely home away from home and we are looking forward to hearing from you!”
